WHEN is a not-for-profit professional organization founded in Chicago in 1981 by a group of professional women health care executives who recognized a need for professional exchange and contact with other professional women in the heath care field. WHEN is an affiliate chapter of The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) providing healthcare executives with opportunities for professional development through educational and social activities. There are 82 ACHE chapters and 6 Women’s Healthcare Executive Networks.

In the past two years WHEN has renewed its focus on providing network opportunities and resources to women health care executives in the Chicago area from redesigning our website to creating interesting and fun events on a regular basis.

This year our focus is two fold – first to continue our technology improvements so that we can communicate more regularly with our members and second to expand our events to include a pre-event social hour centering on member networking opportunities with a specific appeal.  Examples of specific focus topics include Retirement –when, how and why?, How to create a powerful contact list, Work-life balance, Methods of advancement – the good, the bad and the ugly.
